Tyler Says Both he And Perry Fell Off The Wagon

According to Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, he wasn’t the only long-sober member of the band who fell off the wagon in recent times. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Tyler said that he and guitarist Joe Perry got high together in 2008 while attempting to record a new album. Tyler revealed, “It was just like 30 years before. I whipped out mine, he whipped out his and we got high together again. I say to Joe, ‘Wow, man, how you been, it’s been, what, 17 years since we got high together? Joe, you’ve been f***ing running away from me ever since.’ “

The drugs, however, derailed the sessions for the album, with Tyler saying, “Joe was high and he couldn’t play. I couldn’t sing, really, because I was snorting everything, and it f***s up your throat. It was the wrong time.”

Perry did not respond to an Associated Press request for a comment.

Tyler’s alleged fall from sobriety led to an injury onstage, a canceled tour, and tensions within Aerosmith in late 2009. The band patched up their differences early last year and toured, after Tyler spent 90 days in rehab.

Disturbed has filmed a video for the song “Warrior” from the band’s latest album Asylum. The track has been described by singer David Draiman as a “fight song for fighters,” while drummer Mike Wengren told Fight! magazine, “We wrote that about MMA (mixed martial arts) fighters. We are hoping the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) will be interested and use it for events or a soundtrack or something . . . the song is about MMA fighting and just showing our respect to those guys.”

Courtney Love has settled a lawsuit brought against her by a fashion designer who claimed that Love defamed her in a series of Twitter posts. Love will reportedly pay $430,000 to Dawn Simorangkir, who alleged that Love ruined her business with a series of vicious tweets after the two fought over a $40,000 payment for clothing. Simorangkir’s attorney said, “(Love’s) reprehensible defamatory comments were completely false and $430,000 is quite a significant way to say I am sorry. One would hope that, given this disaster, restraint of pen, tongue and tweet would guide Ms. Love’s future conduct.”

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has launched his own mobile app, called “Steven Tyler’s AppSoLewdly.” The app went on sale Thursday (March 3rd) for $2.99 exclusively at the iTunes app store. According to a press release, fans will have access to “exclusive, unpredictable, and uncensored content,” including self-made videos, previously unseen photos and other flotsam and jetsam from the mind of Steven Tyler.
